Dr. Sushant S. Gulghane is a highly trained and experienced Consultant Anaesthesiologist and Intensivist with over a decade of professional expertise in critical care and perioperative management. Known for his proficiency in one of the most challenging fields, including liver transplantation, Dr. Gulghane has developed a reputation for excellence in various high-stakes medical environments.
His career has spanned leading institutions across India, such as Fortis, Medanta, Max, and the American Oncology Hospital, all of which are JCI and NABH accredited with bed capacities ranging from 250 to 1500. In addition to his extensive work in India, Dr. Gulghane has spent the last three years contributing his expertise in Kenya and Kinshasa (Democratic Republic of Congo), where he has continued to deliver top-tier critical care and anesthesiology services.
Dr. Gulghane’s vast experience includes working in specialized departments such as Critical Care, Neurosurgery, Cath-Lab, Onco-surgery, Joint Replacement, Pain Management, and high-risk non-cardiac surgeries in cardiac patients. He is also well-versed in gastrointestinal surgeries, renal and liver transplants (both live and cadaveric), as well as gastro endoscopies, bronchoscopies, and various day care procedures.
His clinical interests are diverse, with a particular focus on Emergency & Trauma Care, Pediatric and Geriatric Anesthesia, Obstetric Anesthesia, Regional Anesthesia, and Pain Management. In critical care, Dr. Gulghane is skilled in providing ventilatory care, TPN, renal preservation, and managing complex conditions such as ARDS, sepsis, and cardiorespiratory critical conditions. His technical expertise includes procedures like pericardiocentesis, USG-guided line insertions, intercostal chest tube insertion, temporary and permanent dialysis catheter placement, assisting in pacemaker insertion, and performing percutaneous tracheostomies.
