Resident Medical Officer
Job Description:
The Resident Medical Officer (RMO) at Starcare International Hospital plays a critical role in providing continuous, high-quality medical care to our patients. As an RMO, you will work closely with our team of experienced healthcare professionals across various departments to deliver effective treatment and care. You will be responsible for managing the medical care of patients from admission to discharge, including diagnosis, treatment, and coordination of care with specialists. This position requires a commitment to patient safety, a passion for healthcare, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient rounds daily, assess patients’ conditions, and develop treatment plans in consultation with senior medical staff.
- Perform clinical procedures and interventions as necessary, including but not limited to IV insertions, phlebotomy, and administering medications.
- Respond promptly to medical emergencies within the hospital, providing resuscitation and stabilization as needed.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate patient records, documenting all assessments, interventions, and patient progress.
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing compassionate care and clear information about diagnoses, treatment plans, and prognosis.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, therapists, and other specialists, to ensure a coordinated approach to patient care.
- Participate in continuing medical education, departmental meetings, and quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and services.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) from a recognized institution, with full registration with the Medical and Dental Council.
- Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
- Strong clinical skills with the ability to perform a wide range of medical procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Knowledge of current medical practices and protocols, with a commitment to adhering to ethical medical practices and guidelines.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work as part of a team.
- Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as required by the hospital’s needs.
